Gilroy High School

Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine is a course that will enable students to evaluate, treat, and preform proper preventative measures in caring for injuries sustained in athletics. As a student athletic trainer, you will have hands on experience with athletes in game and practice situations. Sports Medicine Club is a opportunity for underclassmen to begin developing their skills prior to enrollment in the course. It also allows upperclassmen unable to enroll due to schedule conflicts to experience athletic training as a career option.

Student athletic trainer's receive hands on experience to support the ideas and concepts taught in the class. They also receive American Red Cross Certification in CPR with AED and First Aid
